The Glamour Club is on a mission to end loneliness caused by social isolation in Worthing and beyond. Regularly selling out weeks in advance, the vintage themed events are on a Saturday afternoon between Noon and 3pm. The events give people the opportunity to get out of the house, have fun and connect with local people from the Worthing community.

The Glamour Club is dementia friendly, disability confident and eco-friendly, and best of all, everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun. For people feeling isolated or who would like to meet new people, The Glamour Club is the perfect opportunity to make new friends and have a Great Night Out During the Day.

What can you expect?

Guests are greeted on arrival and escorted to their tables. Once seated, you are served an afternoon tea with freshly made sandwiches and a selection of traditional cakes along with unlimited cups of tea or coffee. Sophisticated live entertainment is played with songs from the 1940’s to the 1970’s. Guests watch, hand jive, do the jive, twist or their own free style. Everyone enjoys a fun afternoon of eating, drinking, chatting, singing, dancing and most importantly, making new friends.

How we are showing our support

Promedica24 West Sussex has pledged its support for The Glamour Club by becoming a key sponsor and volunteer at its community events in Worthing. Chris, who set up the Promedica24 West Sussex branch just over five years ago, said he wanted to partner with an organisation that shared his vision for tackling loneliness and social isolation, which led him to The Glamour Club events.

“Loneliness is rife across the UK and with a loneliness epidemic on our hands, it has never been more important to pull together and do our bit in our communities. The Glamour Club events give people the opportunity to dress up, dance and meet people you may not have come across before, and this is truly invaluable for people who are feeling lonely or isolated from their communities.

“Best of all – it is brilliant fun helping out at the events and getting stuck in with all the volunteers. I’m proud to be a part of such a passionate and dedicated cause to end loneliness and isolation in Worthing and beyond, and I welcome anyone feeling lonely to come along and see what all the fuss is about.”
