Palliative Care FAQ’s

When should someone be offered palliative care?

+
-

Palliative care can provide specialised care and support to anyone diagnosed with a serious illness. Many people assume that palliative care also means ‘end of life care’, but this isn’t the case. Palliative care can be offered to and taken up by someone who is receiving curative treatment for any serious illness as its aim is to improve quality of life.

After diagnosis, you can take advantage of palliative care at any stage of your illness. When palliative care is specifically for someone who is nearing the end of their life, it’s then referred to as ‘end of life care’.

How much does end of life care cost?

+
-

The cost of end of life care varies depending on your specific needs and the level of care that you require. We have various care packages to choose from and are happy to discuss your needs and create a bespoke plan tailored around you. Depending on your circumstances, there may also be public funding or benefits available to you and we can help you to take advantage of these.
